These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of SolarCalc (solar-calc.lifeofabit.com), operated by Life of a Bit. By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the site.

1. Educational Use Only

SolarCalc provides general educational information about potential rooftop solar production, utility-rate context, incentives, and rough savings estimates. The site is designed to help you understand the economics of residential solar at a high level. It is not engineering advice, legal advice, tax advice, financing advice, or a recommendation to purchase a specific system.

Solar-specific disclaimer: all estimates on this site are educational only, not a binding quote, not a firm offer, and not a guarantee of savings, production, incentive eligibility, financing approval, or installer pricing. Before acting on any estimate, consult a licensed solar installer and, where relevant, a tax or legal professional.

We try to use reasonable data sources, including NREL PVWatts and URDB-based utility references, but local roof conditions, rate structures, policy changes, and equipment choices can materially change real-world outcomes.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIFE OF A BIT AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED HERE.

If SolarCalc later introduces a quote request or lead-handoff workflow, additional disclosures and consent language may apply to that feature. Using such a workflow would also require you to review any visible form terms, partner disclosures, and communication-consent language at the time of submission.

The site's original text, page layout, software logic, and branding are owned by Life of a Bit or used with permission. Public factual data remains subject to its original source terms. You may quote short excerpts for commentary or reference with attribution, but you may not copy entire pages, templates, or branded experiences for commercial reuse without permission.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Last updated date above. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable United States law and any state law that properly applies, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute arises, the parties should attempt to resolve it informally first.
